Best rally video ever! Crazy Finns crashing part two

If the first "Crazy Finns" video wasn't enough, you're going to get a second dose of pure sound rally goodness. Crashing is just as much a part of rally as winning. Not many drivers are willing to tempt the likes of rally, as this clearly divides the men from mice. The difference between rally and track racing is surface predictability. When you race rally, the surface is an ever evolving death trap just waiting for you to slip. On the pavement, it's pretty constant and you can expect what's around the next corner. Sliding blind through corners at speeds in excess of 70 mph, the chances of a wreck occurring are very high!

Rallycross isn't very popular here in North America, but overseas it's the number one sport. It doesn't take a commercialized team worth thousands of dollars to win a race, all it takes is a good driver and well built vehicle. Constructing a rally car is quite simple. All you need to do is strip the vehicle of weight, add a crash cage, and free up the exhaust and intake. Additional modifications can be used, but aren't required. You'd be surprised how many rally cars only have minimal modifications.

The following video illustrates the darker side of rally. Rally isn't a sport for the weak or for those who are afraid of breaking bones. The typical mentality behind rally is "build it, crash it, built it again". When pushing to get the best time on dirt roads and forest paths, wrecks are bound to occur. It takes a real adrenaline junky to tempt the likes of rallycross. If pavement style racing doesn't give the rush you're looking for, try rallycross. One close call and you'll be shaking like a dog passing bones from all the adrenaline in your system. I've driven rally style, and almost wrecked; trust me I know the feeling. The instant you lose control time stands still and all you can do is hold on for the ride of your life; or death.
