When builders set out to make a monster machine, most will run the stock drive train until it breaks if the vehicle is going to be street driven. It's kind of fun just to see how much the original equipment can handle. General Motors makes decent drive trains, but they are made for the stock rated power levels. Once you start pushing major power through their V8's, they will break stuff. So if you plan on doing some major performance modifications to your CTS-V, you might want to drive local until all the kinks are worked out.
