Thanks to OctaneReport, we get to watch the race from inside of Paul's BMW. Is Paul as good of a driver as what he appears to be on the movies? Not really, if you watch closely at 4:38 he over revs the engine. Mishaps like this is what blows motors, looses races, and costs thousands of dollars. Chances are this isn't his car, so he could probably care less. If it wasn't for BMW's superb internal components and integrated computer protection, this car would be toast. When considering the layout of each vehicle, Paul should have done much better. The short wheelbase of the Cooper makes it tough to take corners, meanwhile the BMW's long tradition of rich racing heritage should have allowed him to not only beat the Cooper, but smoke it. Something tells me that BMW had much more cornering, but Mr. Walker was afraid to push the envelope.
Aside from newb-ing a corner with an attempt to kill a motor, he actually does alright considering the guy is a movie star, not a race car driver. In the end, he manages to take the poll position; but that doesn't mean he won. This is a "circuit battle", which uses touge style rules. In order to win, you must put more time between your car and the competition than your competitor on the previous lap. Despite a few sloppy corners and a missed gear, he got the car around the track without killing himself, the car, or anyone else. Was it enough time? There's no information to tell us whether or not he won, which is kind of lame. Just guessing, I'd say the Mini smoked Mr. Fast and Furious.
