Police abusing rights! Caught speeding on video

Civilians aren't the only ones who get caught speeding, and when it comes to catching police speeding it dances a tough line between legality. Speeding police officers can be a good thing if it's in the effort to save human life. When there's no emergency and their lights aren't on, this is when they cross the line and become hypocritical criminals and not the beholders of the justice they claim. The funny thing is that these officers speeding are probably the same ones that hand out a humanity speech along with the ticket. Just because these few videos have surfaced on the web showing officers of ill repute breaking the law and putting human life in danger, doesn't mean they are all bad. They are human, and they make mistakes too.

In the following clips, we'll take a look at several video that clearly illustrate police officers in direct violation of the speed limit. The first video shows a New Mexico state police officer speeding down a Texas interstate. Marked as a 60 mile per hour road, the New Mexico state police officer cruises at 75 miles per hour as reported by the video evidence. How is this possibly legal? That's a good question. Maybe he was transporting a psychotic criminal who was incredibly annoying. Maybe he was spitting? Who knows, but that doesn't mean that speeding is acceptable. The rules of the road apply for everyone, and that includes police officers.

I'll admit, it's pretty funny catching the boys in blue breaking the law. Even though they are officers of the law, they're not perfect. People make mistakes, and they're people too right? At least this mistake is harmless, unlike the following video where a speeding police officer takes out two teenagers who are abiding by the law. Teens driving over the legal alcohol limit and a police officer driving 90 miles per hour through a city street without proper lighting is a recipe for disaster. According to the YouTube description, lawyers of the deceased teens state that even though they were under the influence of alcohol, it does not let officer Anderson off the hook for driving recklessly. The officer was charged with two counts of manslaughter and reckless driving. Will his cruiser get crushed like a street racer? Wouldn't that be funny.

The third and final video of police caught speeding takes place in the Netherlands, as an officer is caught on video driving 120 km/h in a construction zone that is set from 70 to 90 km/h. What I find interesting about this video is that he's driving nearly double the speed limit through a construction zone. Typically deemed as higher fine zones due to the presence of human life, speeding through these areas is a big no-no. Luckily no one got hurt, but if the radar gun was in the other hand I'm sure a citation would have been issued along with a humanity speech about how three miles per hour over the stated speed limit is dangerous. Yeah, believe it or not I've been cited for just three miles per hour over; ridiculous. That wasn't a speeding ticket, it was a mandatory donation!
