Teacher's Acura RSX gets Saran Wrapped

To preserve a vehicle some folks use wax, others use car covers, and then a more outlandish group uses the likes of Saran Wrap to preserve vehicles. Making good use of talent, a group of youths decide to share the skills they've acquired in home economics with their teacher's Acura RSX. Lap after lap, round after round, finally the deed is done and the car is wrapped in Saran's goodness. This looks all good and fun, but what happens to the surface of the vehicle?

Saran Wrap has a very high melting point making it acceptable for use with food. Even though the plastic won't melt to the surface of the vehicle, it can still do damage. If the car wasn't washed immediately before application, the debris will stick to the Saran wrap like sand paper causing microabrasion. Microabrasion takes place when the small bits of dirt, dust, and other nasty particulate rub into the soft clear coat surfaces of the vehicle's paint. Even though this stunt is funny, it still does harm to the vehicle. Unless you're really angry with a person and are prepared to pay for property damage and vandalism charges, I would avoid the classic Saran Wrap prank. There's many other good forms of trickery that don't damage vehicles such as novelty tickets, washable glass paint with funny messages, and other.
