SUV drifting: Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG two-wheel drift

Drifting in one of the most expensive SUV's on the market today, seeing the Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG pull off a two-wheel drift is simply amazing. How is this possible? On the AMG version, the SUV comes packing a 500 horsepower, 5.5-liter supercharged V8 with five-speed automatic transmission. Rated at 516 foot pounds of torque between 2,800 and 4,500 RPM, it's easy to see how this huge SUV is able to maintain a drift. Even though it looks like a tank, the G55 AMG has a top speed of 130 mph and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds. Is that thing fast or what?

Watching the video, it's amazing to see such an expensive vehicle drifting - let alone pulling off a drift on two wheels. At one point, the SUV starts to tip over, exposing the two left side wheels to nothing but air. It's amazing this thing didn't tip over! Weighing in at 5,721 pounds, by looking at the design it's easy to see that the G55 AMG's center of gravity is anything but ideal for drifting; yet the driver still pulls it off. Whether this is luck or pure skill, that driver and G55 AMG are lucky to still be on the road today. Getting tipsy in a $122k SUV sound like fun? Comment below!
