Cars painted with 'Sharpie Art'

Those smelly and fun markers are back again, and this time they're not up our noses; they're on our cars! Sharpie art or Sharpie graffiti is best known for it's destructive random labeling, and not so much automotive finesse. However, in the hands of the right person the Sharpie marker can transform from a tool of crazed glue sniffers and graffiti artists alike into masterful gods of automotive customization. Who knew that your hobby of drawing the naked zombie apocalypse on high school desks would turn out to be so fruitful?

The average sharpie automotive paint job can cost anywhere from "free because your buddy does it" to thousands of dollars. Below we will check out some examples of this new automotive trend, but tread carefully. Sharpie art can be beautiful, or it can be hideous; the decision is yours and yours alone! Tip: try out your Sharpie art skills on your friend's face while he or she is asleep before attempting to Sharpie art your vehicle. Be sure to have your friends permission first!

The first Sharpie car that was ever popular was the Sharpie Lamborghini Gallardo that made it's way around Beverly Hills and along side of the International Auto Show. Caught below in Beverly Hills, pay special attention to the amount of detail within this piece. It's truly amazing when you freeze frame and just stare into the chaos that is art. This new automotive trend is just bursting at the seams with creativity!
"When your growing up your told not to use Sharpies on anything but paper or there will be consequences. Whether it's punishment or permanence, the artists who do Sharpie art are clearly going against the grain; and that's what it takes to start a trend. Perseverance is what drives."

The next Sharpie art custom car paint job was performed on a white Fiero. A classic vehicle of it's time, read the entire Fiero story here. After you've been saturated with Fiero propaganda, pay yet more attention to the great 1980's hero and admire it's following war medallions. The amount of detail an artist can put into Sharpie art is unreal. Can anyone do it? Sure, but you had better practice before attempting to replicate The Last Judgment down the side of your ride.

The third vehicle is a BMW M3 covered in very high quality Sharpie art. From front to back, this BMW is beautifully crafted with only the finest Sharpie custom car paint job skill. This wasn't done by just anyone, this is as god himself picked up the Sharpie and blessed the vehicle with his presence. Oh yes, this is by far one of the best out there. Even though it's not on an expensive Lamborghini, the M3 is still no slug. Take your time with this one, make sure to increase the resolution to 480P and pause at several places to absorb the Sharpie goodness. Here's a few time zones you must check out: 1:25, 1:28, 0:39, 0:32, and 1:11! The amount of detail is totally unreal, kudos to the artist.

Warning: Sniffing markers can damage your brain.

  1. WHOA! The first word that came to my mind was, “HOW?!” All of this art must’ve taken a VERY long time, especially since it was done with just permanent markers! The artists are absolutely amazing, and they’ve done such a great job! I’d love to have this done to my car too, haha!

  2. HOW?! How was this possible? This is literally amazing! Whoever did this not only had a lot of time to kill, but also a lot of creativity, a lot of markers, and twice that amount of talent! This is absolutely spectacular. I wonder if they’ll do my van…

  3. Cars like this are indeed magnificent! It’s truly a work of art! The last time I attended a car show, they paraded the most amazing customized cars for the main event. I find it hard to decide what the best car was because they really looked fantastic to me! :p
