Corvette vs. Toyota Corolla

Racing a Toyota Corolla 1.3 liter against the mighty Corvette is quite humorous, and we get to watch it from the loser's perspective. Watching the Corvette kill the Corolla is a great way to see just how fast a well built Corvette can be. Sometimes when building fast cars, we lose our judgment of how fast, fast really is. If you've ever traded the sports car in on a rental for a few days during repairs, you totally understand how our perception can be thrown off. After riding in the rental and driving the sports car for the first time, "Wow, dude this is fast!" typically occurs.

There is no exclamation of speed with this video. No, instead we get to see how slow a 1.3 liter Toyota Corolla with a missing air filter is. It's not exactly a tortoise, but it's no hare. Watching the Corvette smear this Toyota is rather fun. It's like a workout for our muscle car muscle; an exercise of torque! They say working out with less weight more often creates a lean muscle, so take your muscle and run it against some "less weight" for fun and whip that old muscle into shape.

This isn't meant to be a slam on JDM, or a feather in muscle's bonnet. No, this is just for fun and observation of speed. We often fail to perceive just how fast our cars our after continuous building. A callus to the speed builds up, and before you know it you're calling anything above 4 seconds for a 0-60 time slow. Anywhere in the three second range and you're hauling, this Corvette is totally pulling weight against this Toyota. It's not a fair match, but hey; life isn't fair either.
