Lexus LFA at WOT

The Lexus LFA is the hottest vehicle to come out of Japan since the days of the Toyota Supra, Nissan Skyline, and more. Comparable to a full race car straight from the factory, hearing and seeing the Lexus LFA at wide open throttle (WOT) is a treat for the senses. The following video shows us how the LFA raises and lowers the rear wing automatically based on speed. Beyond 55 mph, additional down force is required to keep traction, so the wing activates and automatically rises. Under 55 mph, the wing will not provide down force, so the Lexus LFA automatically lowers it. That's cool and all, but the best thing is that we get to hear the LFA at wide open throttle during this demonstration.

I love the sound of this car, plain and simple. Lexus has tuned the exhaust and engine to produce ample power with a very intimidating growl. The LFA emits an almost surreal exhaust note, only comparable to that of an F1 car. I'm curious as to how the car will take modifications. Of course it is quick out of the box, but we both know that someone is going to tinker with it and create more power. Using a 4.8 liter V10 engine with 12:1 compression ratio, any additional boost added to this engine will put down major power. The question remains - will the stock Lexus LFA be capable of handling boost? Lexus knows that consumers are going to tinker with it, so all we can do is hope that they prepared the vehicle for our antics.
