9-second daily driven Nissan 350Z

Building a daily driver that can accomplish a 9 second quarter mile time takes skill, will power, and a deep pocket! Hal's daily driver 350z set a new quarter mile record for a six speed Nissan 350z by running the quarter mile with full weight at just 9.3 seconds at 145 miles per hour! Using 27 inch DOT approved tires, this is a true daily driver time and not a tire swap time enhancement. With modifications such as Injected performance stage one 3.5 liter VQ35DE, Injected performance GT42R turbo kit, Haltech ECU tuned by Hal, 6 speed manual transmission, Tilton clutch, DSS Axles, and stock differential the 9 second daily driven 350z is just as strong as it is fast. It's important when building a quick car to make it have resilience and the ability to be beaten on for thousands of miles before falling apart.

Injected Performance is an all around great performance shop and parts distributor. Focusing on the Nissan 350z, Evo, WRX, and RX8 Injected Performance is a very diverse and talented group of enthusiasts. Watching the following drag footage of their Nissan ripping down the strip at 145 miles per hour is a treat! According to the Injected Performance blog, the vehicle also contains the following modifications:

The modification list (short but sweet):
  • Brian Crower valve train & 272 cams
  • 8,350 max RPM
  • Cosworth intake plenum
  • Injected Performance driveshaft loop and differential brace
  • Injected Performance drag wheel and tire package
  • Full interior, no cage

A nine second vehicle that uses no cage is a rebel of the track and the street. Sitting in plush 350z interior as opposed to a stripped out metal cage of death is always more refreshing. For a daily driven car, the interior needs to remain as close to stock as possible. That means no safety of a cage, no extra grip of a racing seat; nothing. It is just you and the car; mono o' mono!

A stock interior with nine second performance makes the ride more thrilling as well because passengers won't be able to sit still. Hitting corners and accelerating makes even the most hardcore anti-seat belt people buckle up tight. Great job to Injected Performance for releasing yet another lurking 350z with nine second capabilities.
