The Mitsubishi Evo used in this touge battle gone wrong is heavily modified, and outfitted with all the goodies. Modified suspension and a modified driver make it a potent tool for accomplishing a touge battle with excellence. The Nissan GT-R was probably driven by a new driver, and when you mix touge battles with new cars, new drivers, and night time conditions something always goes wrong. Not every touge battle ends up this way, but some do. It's a shame to see the Nissan GT-R torn up like this, but shift happens and apparently this one shifted to the right; right into the wall!
