Turbocharged 'push' lawn mower

This might not be a sports car, but one look at the size of this turbo and it would have even the most savvy JDM owner shaking at their knees. Of course this turbo lawn mower has a snowball's chance in the middle of summer at actually spooling that massive turbine, but it's still fun to build and watch. Functional no, cool yes! A turbo that size would give even the average 2.0 liter four cylinder a decent lag time, let alone a micro-block lawn mower. So if this lawn mower is running a turbo, does that mean it will cut the lawn quicker?

If this was a riding mower, I could see how a turbo would be "fun" and possibly benefit the mowing experience should the builder actually use a turbo the mower could spool. For a mower this size, the miniature turbos such as the Lombardini TD025M-03C turbocharger with an internal wastegate would be ideal. This turbo is small enough that the exhaust gas could actually create pressure to spool the turbo. With a massive turbo like what we see below, the turbine will spin but no boosting pressure will be created in the manifold. No pressure in the turbo manifold, no boost in the intake manifold; it's actually quite simple.

So if it doesn't work, then what is the point? Imagine mowing your yard and watching the expression of people passing by. You know they'll notice the massive turbo sticking off the side, questions and curiosity will pursue. I can only imagine what kind of interesting feedback this guy has got from his turbo lawn mower. Watch out for the afterfire, I'd hate to see those dry yard clippings set ablaze.
