Nissan Skyline eats curb during street drift

An attempt to perform a donut drift, the Skyline driver makes a mistake causing extensive drive line, suspension, and body damage. At the end of the donut, he forgets to press the brakes to stop the vehicle. Luckily for us, there is a curb behind him and the car gets launched over it backwards! This is why dangerous stunts like this should not be performed on the street. There is simply too many obstacles in the way to perform a safe drifting stunt. Maybe next time he will try it in a more open area! Watching the video, you can see how close he initiates the drift to the curb determines the outcome. The road isn't wide enough for a high speed drift, only a stand still drift or donut would be appropriate for this small amount of space.

Finishing the donut only a few feet from the curb, he failed to allow roll back space should he not brake in time. Pressing in the clutch alone instead of with the brake pedal at the same time, the Skyline is launched over the curb and into the median. Estimated damage is anywhere from $5,000 up to $20,000 depending on the extent and various import fees. This vehicle was wrecked in Saudi Arabia where parts are not easy to come by nor are they cheap. The Skyline is a rare vehicle around the world, and no matter where you are it's going to be hard to find parts. Ouch!
