Nissan Skyline GT-R vs. Bugatti Veyron

In a match of all-wheel drive domination, can the JDM legend "Godzilla" defeat the rich guy's space ship? In the following clip, we get to see a decently modified GT-R R34 race against the infamous Veyron. Three minutes is when the fun begins, and when it does; hold on tight! The GT-R R34 has an amazing launch thanks to apparent weight reduction, suspension, engine, and other performance modifications. Combined with a great driver portraying short shift times, we finally get to see an amateur street race from a dig between the two giants.

Racing the Skyline against the Bugatti Veyron had been avoided during the initial release of the vehicle. Why? I don't know, but I have my suspicions. Either way, it's nice to finally see the race we've all been waiting for. Earlier I wrote about the Skyline winning in a timed "theory" race. Now we get to see the real world proof that a well built Skyline can indeed be faster than a Bugatti Veyron.

Of course the claims of overall top speed are still in favor of the Bugatti, but not all scenarios are the same. This race was from a dig, and obviously the lighter weight Skyline is going to win. If the race had taken place from 170 mph upward, the Bugatti would have returned the favorable jump from a dig. These cars are both great vehicles, but in true reality are meant for two totally different purposes. Great to see them race, but if I had to pick one I'd say both.
