Ride onboard a BMW Z4 GT3 at Nurburgring

Riding along in the BMW Z4 GT3 as it rips through Nurburgring is a euphoric experience for all of the senses. The sound of the gears and motor, the smell of the exhaust, the feel of the g-forces as it catapults out of corners, and the taste of victory can all be had by watching the Nurburgring footage of the BMW Z4 GT3. I've seen a lot of Nurburgring footage, but this is one for the books. Upon the start of the race, the interior of the Z4 sounds like the Starship Enterprise as it enters warp speed; the gear noise is uncanny!

The first lap around the track, the Danish designed BMW Z4 chassis is very apparent as it handles the twists and bends with ease and provides utmost acceleration out of these obstacles. At only 2,645 pounds thanks to a majority of parts being made from carbon fiber, it's easy to see why this chassis is quickly becoming the choice of racing teams around the world. BMW is known for their tactical domination of Nurburgring, and it shows. Discuss this article with CarDomain.com

Powering the BMW Z4 GT3 is a 4.0 liter V8, with around 473 brake horsepower. It's not a huge powerhouse, but it's just enough to get it around the track and still stay within restrictive regulations. The handling of the vehicle makes up for it's lesser than great horsepower rating, and leaves the majority of the wins up to the driver's will to push the limit. Engine management is taken care of by ECU408 with a Power400 control unit that takes command of actuators. All of these goodies just wouldn't be the same without that six speed sequential shift transmission. Making same use of the rally car style quick shift, this allows racers to eliminate long shift time thus decreasing overall lap times. With a price tag of around $400,000 USD, the BMW Z4 GT3 is totally worth the investment. Watch the video below and you will see what I mean!
